City of Glendale Storm Assistance Hotline: Regarding flooding or water damage in a Glendale neighborhood, please call (623) 930-2202.

To report an outage in your area:

Electricity. Glendale residents are serviced by both Arizona Public Service and Salt River Project for electricity. Contact the following: APS at 602-371-7171 or; SRP at 602-236-8811 or

Road Closures - For information related to on road closures and travel restrictions due to the weather, please visit the Arizona Department of Transportation website

Water. The city provides all water and sewer services. Call 623-930-3190.

Cable, Phone and Internet Service. These are provided through Century Link Communications at 877-348-9007 ( or Cox Communications at 602-277-1000 (

Gas. For gas emergencies, call Southwest Gas at (602) 271-4277.

Public Safety. If you have an emergency and need police or fire, call 911. For non-emergencies, call 623-930-3000.

Downed Trees and Road Hazards. During regular business hours, call 623-930-2656. After 5 p.m. during a weekday and on weekends, call (602) 582-6814.

Important safety reminders:

  • Children need constant supervision around all bodies of water.
  • Avoid moving water.
  • If your car stalls in rapidly rising waters, get out immediately and climb to higher ground. DO NOT attempt to push your car to higher ground as the ground underneath the surface may be unstable.
  • Floodwaters often erode roads and walkways. Flood debris may also hide animals and broken bottles. Avoid walking or driving through it.

If you must walk or drive in areas that have been flooded, stay on firm ground. Moving water only 6 inches deep can sweep you off your feet. Standing water may be electrically charged from underground or downed power lines.

  • For residents needing special bulk-trash pick-up, call 623-930-2660.
  • The city has established a hotline for residents to get additional information regarding storm or flood damage on their property, which is 623-930-2202.
  • In many states, dialing “211” provides individuals and families in need with a shortcut through what may be a bewildering maze of health and human service agencies’ phone numbers. By simply dialing 211, those in need of assistance are referred, and sometimes connected, to appropriate agencies and community organizations.
  • Want to know road conditions for your commute home? is Arizona’s portion of the national 5-1-1 travel information alerting system. Traffic updates are available here at and also by dialing 5-1-1 from any landline or mobile phone from anywhere in Arizona.

Sandbags - When heavy rains and potential flooding are predicted, sand and sandbags are available to the public for free at the following location; however, citizens must bring their own shovels:

  • Bonsall Park North, Northeast corner of 59th Avenue and Bethany Home Road, next to the Hockey Rink
  • City of Glendale Community Center North: 14061 N. 59th Ave.
  • GFD Support Services: 7501 N.55th Ave.
