New - Glendale Today with Mayor Jerry Weiers Highlights Tractor Event at Sahuaro Ranch 
Glendale Mayor Jerry Weiers drives a tractor from City Hall to Sahuaro Ranch Park to showcase the park’s 25th annual winter antique tractor show in his new edition of the TV show “Glendale Today.” Mayor Weiers talks with Larry Rovey, a longtime Glendale farmer and tractor collector, about the city’s partnership with the Arizona Early Day Gas Engine & Antique Tractor Association. Besides showcasing all the many tractor events at the show, including tractor pulls, a plowing demonstration, a tractor parade and hundreds of small antique engines, the Mayor discusses how the partnership came to be and what the group has done for fundraising and upkeep to the park. Mayor Weiers also talks to Joanna Brace from the city’s Parks and Recreation department on how important the tractor association has been in supplying and maintaining farm equipment for demonstrations for visitor education and for preserving the history of agriculture in Glendale.

2015 Mayor's State of the City Address
Glendale Mayor Jerry Weiers presented his annual address to the business community at the 64th annual Glendale Chamber of Commerce dinner from the Renaissance Glendale Hotel & Spa. Some of the highlights from the address include honoring Mel Strahl as the Citizen of the Year, showcasing business projects happening in Glendale and recognizing some of the many Super Bowl related requirements that were met by City departments.

Glendale Rotary Club donates stuffed animals to Fire & Police
The Glendale Police and Fire Department accepted donated stuffed animals from Councilmember Ian Hugh on behalf of the Glendale Rotary Club. The stuffed animals are used by police officers and the Crisis Response Unit to comfort young children who have been affected by a traumatic event. This year, Glendale Mayor Jerry Weiers has made it his personal goal to help collect 2,000 bears for the police and fire department and has solicited help from community partners. Watch the video

Mayor Jerry Weiers Habitat for Humanity Central Arizona unveils 1,000th home
Glendale Mayor Jerry Weiers along with Grand Canyon University basketball coach and former Phoenix Sun Dan Majerle, helped unveil the 1,000th home built by Habitat for Humanity Central Arizona. The Olaguez family’s newly constructed home is in a Glendale neighborhood that contains 11 other homes built by Habitat over the years. Watch the video.

Aspera Groundbreaking photo Aspera Groundbreaking
On May 6, 2014, hundreds gathered in north Glendale to celebrate the official groundbreaking for Aspera --- a mixed-use master planned campus located along the Loop 101 and 75th Avenue. Included in Aspera is Treasure House, a supportive, residential facility for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Treasure house was , founded by Kurt and Brenda Warner, along with Partners Don and Kim Cardon. The project is expected to be completed in spring of 2016. Watch the video.

Motorcycle riders gather for Mayors' Big Dog Run Glendale Today with Mayor Jerry Weiers Hits the Road for Veterans
Glendale Mayor Jerry Weiers puts the pedal to the metal for the “Mayors’ Big Dog Run” motorcycle ride to benefit scholarships for veterans at Glendale Community College in his new edition of the TV show “Glendale Today”.  Mayor Weiers teamed up with Glendale Community College for the April 19th bike rally and ride from the campus through six West Valley cities, including an exciting drive by the Luke Air Force Base control tower and University of Phoenix Stadium, with an after party in the Westgate Entertainment District. Glendale Community College hosted the recent 'Stand Up for Veterans' event, which connects West Valley veterans with several resources that can assist them and their families. Employment opportunities, a job fair and legal assistance were provided, and more than 50 service agencies were involved. The event was coordinated by a group of veterans and civilian veteran supporters from the Glendale community. Watch Now
