From Halloween ComicFest to Zombie LARP, enjoy fab-"BOO"-lous, spooky events for all ages this October!

Halloween ComicFest @ the Library! Drawn to Comics (5801 W. Glendale Ave.), downtown Glendale's source for comic books, gaming, and collectibles, is teaming up with the library once again to treat you to a spooktacular all-ages Halloween celebration! Choose from an assortment of free comics while you pose with your favorite cosplay characters from the
Phoenix Ghostbusters, the
Arizona Autobots (Transformers), the
501st Legion, Dune Sea Garrison (Star Wars),
Timeless Enchantments (Disney princesses), and more. Visit over 20 cool vendors and exhibitors, including local comic book creators. Create origami, buttons, masks, and a "flapping bat" at our creepy craft stations. Don’t be afraid to compete for prizes in Rick & Morty Bowling, a Zombie Nerf Shooting Gallery, a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Pizza Toss, Pumpkin Chuckin’ Basketball, a Ghost Scavenger Hunt, and a Spooky Video Game Tournament presented by the
Umbrella Corporation, Arizona Hive (Resident Evil). Wear your own costume and join in the livestreaming fashion show hosted by
ThermoCosplay! Activities will take place at the Velma Teague Library and at the Drawn to Comics store located across the street.

Zombie LARP XI: Punk Pirate Zombies of the Caribbean! Teen Afterhours. ARRRR you ready to save the world from yet another zombie apocalypse?? Thanks to a double-whammy of hexed punk rock and cursed pirate booty, we need you, yer mateys, your eye patches and mohawks to protect us all! Costumes are always welcome. The Afterlife: Through the Light and Back Again. Presenters Cindy and Mike will share some of what they have learned working with death, dying and the afterlife over the past five decades. There will be time for some audience questions (sorry, no readings), along with a short demonstration on how you can develop your own intuitive abilities.
