Chris Anaradian, Assistant City Manager

Glendale Assistant City Manager Chris Anaradian works in partnership with Glendale’s City Manager Kevin Phelps, who oversees the day-to-day operations of the city. Mr. Anaradian also provides supervision and strategic direction for several major municipal departments, including Water and Development Services, Transportation, Engineering and Field Operations.

Mr. Anaradian has more than 17 years of executive experience in local government, building and leading diverse teams of professionals. His leadership priorities focus on preparing communities for growth and reinvestment, developing projects and initiatives that improve quality of life and delivering exceptional service that exceeds resident expectations.

Prior to working in Glendale, Mr. Anaradian served at the City of Tempe and the Town of Queen Creek in various roles including, Director of Development Services and Public Works, Community Development and he was the Tempe Town Lake/Rio Salado Project Manager.  He has also worked in the private sector as a development project consultant, construction project manager, and civil engineering designer.

Mr. Anaradian attended the U.S. Air Force Academy and the University of Colorado, studying Astronautics and Civil Engineering.  As a military engineer with the U.S. Air Force’s 823rd Red Horse Squadron, he was deployed to assignments across southwest Asia.

Mr. Anaradian is a member of the Arizona City/County Management Association; the Urban Land Institute and the American Planning Association. He has served on the Board of Directors of Valley Partnership for the past seven years.
