 Our goal is to support you in achieving the recommended amount of daily movement or physical activity. The goal for American’s is 30-minutes of moderate activity on 5 days a week or more. We offer an online program which includes step or activity tracking, annual department and City vs. City challenges, tips to move more on this web site and through wellness workshops, discounted fitness memberships and more.


Research shows that changing our sedentary habits is one of the most effective ways of preventing type 2 diabetes and obesity-related illnesses.

Fall Move More Department Challenge - Bridges Around the World

You are invited to stay active, healthy and compete against other City of Glendale departments in our walking/activity challenge. This virtual map challenge will take us back in time through the eras! 

Registration will open on October 7th.

Meet the goal of 7,000 steps per day and you will earn 5,000 bonus points towards the annual wellness incentive! The program is simple, track minutes of activity or daily steps using a pedometer, fitness device or smartphone app.

Watch the leaderboard and track your steps and activities to see your department step their way up to win the trophy! Join the challenge and you will automatically be part of the City of Glendale team.

The goal is to walk 7,000 steps a day and finish as high up on the leaderboard as possible.

Get active and earn points towards the annual wellness incentive and quarterly prize drawings! Maximize your points earning potential by syncing your steps in the WellStyles portal.

Tips to Help You Move More at Work
The goal is to move at for 30-90 seconds every hour of the day. Try some of these simple moves provided by the American Diabetes Association Get Fit Don't Sit campaign to energize your day and lower your risk for type 2 diabetes, heart disease and many chronic conditions.

You can always sign-up to Move More for better health!


The Virgin Pulse / WellStyles program is available to all benefits eligible employees, anytime. The program involves tracking minutes of activity or daily steps to encourage you to Move More. You can challenge a coworker or have a department challenge to help keep each other motivated. You can track your steps with a pedometer, phone app, or wireless fitness tracking device! Stay up to date on the go with the Virgin Pulse app or simply login to the web site.
