Public libraries in Glendale are now open with full services following months of modified and limited offerings. The Glendale Public Library system reopened Monday, April 19, 2021, with new operating hours designed to benefit residents.

Effective April 19, 2021, all Glendale libraries will operate on the following schedule:

  • Sunday:  1 p.m. to 5 p.m. 

  • Monday;  12 p.m. to 8 p.m.

  • Tuesday:   10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • Wednesday:  10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

  • Thursday:   10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

  • Friday:   10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

  • Saturday:  10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

In addition to libraries reopening with new operating hours, there will also be physical changes made at the Main Library and the Foothills Library to improve the customer experience by centralizing the service desks. Additionally, all branches will have concierge greeters, assistance at the checkout areas and roving customer service staff.


Glendale Library staff is excited to welcome the public back and are committed to following recommended health guidelines. Safety practices will include regularly sanitizing public use equipment and computers, making touchless hand sanitizing stations available and continuing popular virtual programming. Social distancing is encouraged, and the use of face coverings is
welcomed.
