This year, the city will offer special “Discount Days” at the Rose Lane Aquatics Center only. This means that anyone, regardless of residency or age, can swim for just $1.50, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays! The Rose Lane “Discount Day” special price supersedes all other discounts; it is a better discount than the veteran’s or low-income youth discount offered to residents. Those discounts will still be available to Glendale residents on aquatics admission at Rose Lane Fridays through Mondays. PLEASE NOTE: This offer will take the place of the ‘happy hour’ $1 discount that has been offered in years’ past, and also was printed in the Splashbook/Glendale @ Play magazine, which went to print before this pilot program was planned.

This seasonal facility is only open to the public during the summer. Activities include full facility aquatic rentals, seasonal private swim lessons, group swim lessons, and summer public recreation swimming.

Rose Lane includes a large, zero depth entry leisure pool with spray features, a splash pad, a giant slide, a kiddie slide, and a big pool with a diving well and a diving board. Rose Lane has outdoor day use lockers. Please bring your own lock or you may purchase one at the Rose Lane Cashier's Office. This facility is only staffed when the pools are open for aquatic programming.

Lifeguards Lifeguard Positions

Check back in November 2018 for classes
and recruitment for summer 2019

Strong Swimmer?  Be a Lifeguard!
Lifeguarding is a leadership position where you will learn to handle emergencies in, on and around the water. Glendale conducts interviews to hire summer, certified lifeguards, 15 years or older, at our two aquatics centers.

Applying for a Lifeguard Job with Glendale
When Glendale has certified lifeguard positions available, the jobs will be posted here. If you do not see a part-time position posted, you can still register your application and then check back for the posting you are interested in. Click on the APPLY link whenever you see a job you want to be considered for. A resume may NOT take the place of an official application.

Gray Line

The Glendale Aquatics Division would like to remind Glendale residents to follow some simple rules for water safety and healthy swimming. These rules should apply to your backyard pool and any pool you may visit during the summer.

  • Always watch your children around water (even at pools with lifeguards)
  • Learn CPR (The Glendale Fire Department Offers Classes)
  • Teach your children (and yourself) how to swim
  • Follow the 6 “PLEAs” of Healthy Swimming (Directly from Center for Disease Control Website):
arrow Please do not swim when you have diarrhea. This is especially important for kids in diapers. You can spread germs and make other people sick.
arrow Please do not swallow pool water. Avoid getting water in your mouth.
arrow Please practice good hygiene. All City of Glendale Pools require participants to take a shower before swimming. Please wash your hands after using the restroom or changing diapers. Germs on your body may end up in the water.
arrow Please take your kids for bathroom breaks or check diapers often. Waiting to hear “ I have to go” may mean it’s too late.
arrow Please change diapers and swim suits in the bathroom or changing area and not poolside. Germs can spread to surfaces and objects in and around the pool and spread illness.
arrow Please wash your child thoroughly (especially the rear end) with soap and water before swimming. Everyone has invisible amounts of fecal matter on their bottoms that end up in pools.
  • For more information on water safety and swimming programs, please call 623 930-2838. Keep you and your family safe .
