labor resources to provide general facility maintenance, including but not limited to, areas such as painting, custodial, minor plumbing, minor electrical, and minor remodeling. Most services shall be on behalf of the Community Housing Division who is responsible for addressing the rental housing needs of City residents unable to afford housing in the private market.
This is a federally funded project and is funded by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and requires Davis Bacon prevailing wage rate and compliance with terms of HUD-5370 form and the Department of Labor; and General Wage Determination, Residential, Maricopa, Arizona (Residential Construction Projects-consisting of single family homes and apartments up to and including 2 stories.)
The work to be performed may be subject to the requirements of Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968, as amended, 12 U.S.C. 1701u (Section 3). The purpose of Section 3 is to ensure that the employment and other economic opportunities generated by HUD assistance or HUD-assisted projects cover Section 3. Section 3 shall, to the greatest extent feasible, be directed to the low and very low-income persons, particularly persons who are recipients of HUD assistance for housing. Budget for these services is not to exceed $75,000 annually.
