Glendale, AZ - Annual License Renewal



Glendale’s License renewal process normally begins in November. Below is information on billings you will receive from City of Glendale and/or Arizona Department of Revenue (ADOR) for license renewals.

Persons engaging in business in Glendale may be required to have up to three licenses:

  • Glendale Business license - All persons engaging in any business activities within the city (subject to transaction privilege sales tax or not), are required to have a Glendale Business license, whether operating from a fixed location in Glendale or entering Glendale from an outside location, directly or indirectly, to engage in such activities in Glendale.

  • Transaction Privilege Sales Tax (TPT) license – If your business is subject to transaction privilege sales and use tax you should be licensed with the Arizona Department of Revenue (ADOR) to file and pay your TPT taxes for your Glendale business’s taxable activities.  You must setup each of your Glendale business locations using Region Code “GE”.  If you are not yet licensed, visit www.AZTaxes.gov to register.

    Effective January 2017, you get licensed, renew and pay your TPT license at ADOR.  If you have additional questions regarding your Transaction Privilege Sales Tax license, contact ADOR at (602) 255-3381 or toll-free at (800) 352-4090.
  • Special Regulatory license – You are required to have this license if you are operating a business that has regulatory requirements such as Massage Establishments, Entertainment facilities, Carnivals, Peddlers, Carriages for Hire, businesses selling liquor, to name a few.
