Glendale’s 2018 License renewal process begins November 2017. Below is information on upcoming billings you will receive from Glendale and the Arizona Department of Revenue (ADOR) for license renewals.

Persons engaging in business in Glendale may be required to have up to three licenses:

  • Glendale Business license - All persons engaging in any business activities within the city (subject to transaction privilege sales tax or not), are required to have a Glendale Business license, whether operating from a fixed location in Glendale or entering Glendale from an outside location to engage in such activities in Glendale.  Exceptions include Residential Rental property owners.  You get licensed, renew and pay this license at Glendale.

  • Transaction Privilege Sales Tax (TPT) license – If your business is subject to transaction privilege sales and use tax you should be licensed with the Arizona Department of Revenue (ADOR) and have setup locations using Region Code “GE”.  If you are not yet licensed, visit to register and get licensed.  You get licensed, renew and pay this license at ADOR.
  • Special Regulatory license – You are required to have this license if you are operating a business that has regulatory requirements such as Massage Establishments, Entertainment facilities, Carnivals, Peddlers, Carriages for Hire, businesses selling liquor, to name a few.  You get licensed, renew and pay this license at Glendale.

You will receive a bill from Glendale for the renewal of your Glendale Business license and if applicable, your Glendale Special Regulatory license.  Your Glendale billing will also include your Glendale 2018 Renewal Form.  Please follow the instructions provided in the Renewal Form.  If you have additional questions regarding your Glendale Business and/or Special Regulatory license, contact us at or (623) 930-3190.  To view an example of the 2018 Renewal Form and FAQs, click here.

In addition to your Glendale Business license, ADOR will bill you for your Transaction Privilege Sales Tax (TPT) license, if applicable.
