CLOSURES

As the city of Glendale continues to proactively fight the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19), the city today (4/2/20) announced additional, temporary closures of amenities within our parks. Effective immediately, all city of Glendale amenities within our parks, including playgrounds, ramadas, sport courts, dog parks, and other recreational sites within parks, will be closed to public access until further notice. On March 31, 2020, Glendale park restrooms, the Foothills Sk8 Court Plaza Skatepark and the Glendale Regional X-COURT Skatepark were temporarily closed.

These closures are intended to reduce the chance of COVID-19 exposure. In accordance with Arizona Governor Doug Ducey’s “Stay Home, Stay Healthy, Stay Connected” Executive Order, all open spaces, trails, and walking paths will remain open for public use.

The city's Parks and Recreation staff is in the process of restricting access to such amenities, as well as installing signage.

Park visitors are asked to follow physical distancing guidelines by maintaining a distance of at least 6 feet of space between themselves and other guests. Individuals who are sick or who may have been exposed to COVID-19 must stay home and avoid public spaces.

  • Parks & Recreation facilities including the Adult Center, Foothills Recreation & Aquatics Center, O’Neil Recreation Center, Glendale Community Center, Heroes Regional Parks Recreation Building will all be closed.
