Cactus District Councilmember Ian Hugh
Councilmember Ian Hugh was re-elected in November 2016 to represent the Cactus District after being elected in November 2012 to fill the Cactus District vacancy. In January, 2015 he was appointed Vice Mayor and served through January, 2018. He previously served the City Council from 1986-1991 and was Vice Mayor from 1990-1991. He is currently a member of the Glendale Rotary Club.

Councilmember Hugh’s extensive resume in leadership also includes the Glendale Union High School District School Board from 2004-2012, serving as President in 2011-2012. Hugh has served on several committees including as the Chairman of the Glendale Utilities committee 1989-1990 and was a member and past vice chair of the Glendale Community Development Corporation. Hugh also sponsors recreation sports teams, helps with Toys for Tots and is a member of the Glendale First United Methodist Church.

Councilmember Hugh was born and raised in Glendale. He and his wife, Sharon, have been married for 43 years and have owned their own business, Ian Hugh Tire and Auto at 51st Ave and Glenn Dr. for most of that time. They have 2 daughters and 4 grandchildren and have enjoyed living in the same house in the Cactus District for over 40 years.
