On April 8, 2025, the City Council reached a consensus to bring new rates to a voting meeting for approval. The Landfill Rate increase resolution will be discussed and voted on at the April 22, 2025, Council Meeting.

The following landfill rate adjustments are recommended for FY 2025-2030.

1. That beginning on July 1, 2025, the minimum gate transaction fee shall increase to $45.00 per use, the gate rate collection fee shall increase to $50.00 per ton, the hard to handle waste fee shall increase to $150.00 per ton, the tire fee shall increase to $7.00 per tire, the environmental fee shall remain $2.00 per ton, and the freon evacuation fee shall increase to $25.00 per unit. The ADEQ fee will be assessed as a separate per-ton fee at the rate set by ADEQ each year.

    

2. That beginning on January 1, 2026, the minimum gate transaction fee shall increase to $47.00 per use, the gate rate collection fee shall increase to $52.00 per ton, the hard to handle waste fee shall increase to $152.00 per ton, the tire fee shall increase to $8.00 per tire, the environmental fee shall increase to $3.00 per ton, and the freon evacuation fee shall remain at $25.00 per unit. The ADEQ fee will be assessed as a separate per-ton fee at the rate set by ADEQ each year.

    

3. That beginning on January 1, 2027, the minimum gate transaction fee shall increase to $49.00 per use, the gate rate collection fee shall increase to $54.00 per ton, the hard to handle waste fee shall increase to $154.00 per ton, the tire fee shall remain at $8.00 per tire, the environmental fee shall remain $3.00 per ton, and the freon evacuation fee shall increase to $27.00 per unit. The ADEQ fee will be assessed as a separate per-ton fee at the rate set by ADEQ each year.

    

4. That beginning on January 1, 2028, the minimum gate transaction fee shall increase to $51.00 per use, the gate rate collection fee shall increase to $56.00 per ton, the hard to handle waste fee shall increase to $156.00 per ton, the tire fee shall increase to $9.00 per tire, the environmental fee shall increase to $4.00 per ton, and the freon evacuation fee shall remain at $27.00 per unit. The ADEQ fee will be assessed as a separate per-ton fee at the rate set by ADEQ each year.

    

5. That beginning on January 1, 2029, the minimum gate transaction fee shall increase to $53.00 per use, the gate rate collection fee shall increase to $58.00 per ton, the hard to handle waste fee shall increase to $158.00 per ton, the tire fee shall remain at $9.00 per tire, the environmental fee shall remain at $4.00 per ton, and the freon evacuation fee shall increase to $29.00 per unit. The ADEQ fee will be assessed as a separate per-ton fee at the rate set by ADEQ each year.

    

6. That beginning on January 1, 2030, the minimum gate transaction fee shall increase to $55.00 per use, the gate rate collection fee shall increase to $60.00 per ton, the hard to handle waste fee shall increase to $160.00 per ton, the tire fee shall increase to $10.00 per tire, the environmental fee shall increase to $5.00 per ton, and the freon evacuation fee shall remain at $29.00 per unit. The ADEQ fee will be assessed as a separate per-ton fee at the rate set by ADEQ each year.
