GLENDALE CITY COUNCIL SELECTS LAUREN TOLMACHOFF AS VICE MAYOR

The Glendale City Council has appointed Councilmember Lauren Tolmachoff to serve as Vice Mayor for the remainder of 2024 through 2025. As Vice Mayor, Tolmachoff will be responsible for performing the duties of the Mayor during the Mayor’s absence.

“I’m honored to be chosen as your new Vice Mayor, and I look forward to continuing to serve alongside Mayor Weiers and the council on behalf of our citizens,” says Vice Mayor Tolmachoff. “I’m proud of all we have accomplished since I was elected to the council and remain committed to improving the lives of our citizens every day.”

Vice Mayor Tolmachoff was elected as a councilmember in 2014 and represents the Cholla District. She serves as Glendale’s representative on the Board of Directors for Valley Metro RPTA. She also serves on the Transportation, Infrastructure and Public Works Committee for the League of Arizona Cities and Towns, on the National League of Cities (NLC) Information Technology and Communications Committee, on the Board of Directors of the NLC Women in Municipal Government and serves on the NLC Large Cities Council.

"Lauren has proven to be a passionate advocate for Glendale citizens throughout her time on the council," said Mayor Jerry Weiers. “I look forward to serving with her in this role.”

Vice Mayor Tolmachoff and her family have deep roots in Glendale. The first Tolmachoffs arrived in 1911 and helped Glendale grow into a thriving community. She has been a Realtor® since 2004 following a successful career in banking. She is an NAR Realtor® Champion, member of the Women’s Council of Realtors and a proud member and past president of the Glendale Rotary Club.
