CITY OF GLENDALE NAMES NEW ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT DEPUTY DIRECTOR
Trent Dutry is appointed to lead multiple divisions driving citizen engagement
The city of Glendale is excited to welcome Trent Dutry as the new Economic Development Deputy Director. Dutry has decades of experience in project and community management and will lead the teams responsible for city events and arts and culture engagement.
In this role, Dutry will manage the Special Events Division, the Arts and Culture Division, and redevelopment efforts including Downtown Development. The position directs city events like Glendale Glitters, the music festival Live! and Ballet Under the Stars. Additionally, Dutry will supervise permits for all events happening citywide.
“Trent is a leader with a proven track record in community engagement and developing high-performing teams,” said Glendale City Manager Kevin Phelps. “The city has incredible momentum in creating programming and hosting events that drive interest throughout Glendale, and with Trent onboard, the opportunities will continue to grow.”
Dutry spent nearly 30 years in the sports and entertainment industry with the Phoenix Suns. He led day-to-day operations, vendor negotiations and employee development. He most recently worked for Enchant Christmas, where he led large-scale event production and oversaw the Phoenix-based team. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from DeVry Institute.

Together, we will build on Glendale's rich legacy, fostering creativity, innovation and community engagement,” said Dutry. “My goal is to elevate the city’s reputation as a vibrant hub, where creativity thrives and every experience leaves a lasting impact.”
Dutry’s first day in the city was Tuesday, December 10.
