GROW Happiness Gardening Event

8-11 a.m., Saturday, September 14, 2019
Glendale’s GROW Happiness Event is an opportunity to go out and beautify one of Glendale’s unique garden spaces, the Elsie McCarthy Sensory Garden. This garden was developed to stimulate the senses of sight, sound, smell and touch for all visitors. Volunteers will help with deadheading, trimming and weeding the rose garden, moving and raking gravel, and general garden tasks. This is an outdoor project, so please dress in clothes you will not mind getting dirty. Closed-toe shoes are required. Click here to register.

Make a Difference Day

8-11 a.m., Saturday, October 26, 2019
In partnership with Heart for the City, we are hosting a community service project to prepare the community garden for fall planting. Volunteers are needed to assist with a variety of garden tasks, including harvesting, planting, and weeding the community garden. This is an outdoor project, so please dress in clothes you will not mind getting dirty. Closed-toe shoes are required. Click here to register.

Glendale Honors City Volunteers

The 24th Annual City of Glendale Volunteer Appreciation event was held on April 18, 2019.  The "We Hit the Jackpot with Volunteers Like You" event recognized the many volunteers that contribute to the City of Glendale through the year.

2018 Update

In 2018, the Community volunteer Program had 3,589 volunteers complete more than 200 projects or events within Glendale.  That adds up to 8,315 hours of service for a total value of $203,800.  Projects included rose bush pruning, citrus gleaning, park or street cleanups and many more.  The efforts of the volunteers help to improve and beautify the streets, parks and amenities for resident and visitors.
